Position Overview:
  • Work Arrangement: Onsite.
  • Schedule: Full-time | ~1,800 billable hours annually.
A growing regional law firm is seeking a Senior Commercial Real Estate Counsel to join its expanding practice. Recognized for its strong capabilities in corporate transactions and real estate, the firm advises a sophisticated client base that includes developers, institutional investors, franchise operators, and commercial sponsors. This role offers a dynamic environment where experienced attorneys can take on high-level transactional work while continuing to build and expand their personal practice.
Practice Focus:
  • Commercial property acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Complex real estate transactions.
  • Commercial lending and secured financing.
  • Joint venture structuring and financing.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Transactional Advisor: Serve as a lead advisor within the firm’s Real Estate practice.
  • Deal Execution: Structure, negotiate, and execute a wide range of commercial real estate agreements (including purchase and sale agreements, leases, and related documentation).
  • Lifecycle Management: Manage the full lifecycle of property transactions, from initial structuring through closing.
  • Financing & Counsel: Advise on corporate finance matters, including loan structures, security instruments, and financing agreements. Represent both lenders and borrowers in complex transactions, including franchise-related businesses.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct and oversee comprehensive due diligence processes, including title, surveys, and zoning materials.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with lenders, title providers, and opposing counsel to ensure efficient deal execution.
Candidate Profile:
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • Bar Admission: Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate and transactional law.
  • Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex real estate transactions, commercial leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, and secured financing.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to franchise-related transactions or financing structures.
  • Additional bar admissions in major commercial jurisdictions.
  • A portable book of business or a demonstrated ability to generate client relationships.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to advise sophisticated stakeholders.
