Position Overview:
The Director of Nursing – Behavioral Health provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for inpatient behavioral health services. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, promotes patient safety, and fosters a culture of excellence in mental health care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct daily operations of the inpatient behavioral health unit.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Oversee staff development, training, and performance evaluations.
- Promote a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of recent acute care inpatient behavioral health leadership experience (Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager level).
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of start date.
- Crisis Intervention certification within 90 days of start date.
- Background screening required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
