Director of Nursing – Behavioral Health

Position Overview:
The Director of Nursing – Behavioral Health provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for inpatient behavioral health services. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, promotes patient safety, and fosters a culture of excellence in mental health care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct daily operations of the inpatient behavioral health unit.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Oversee staff development, training, and performance evaluations.
Promote a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of recent acute care inpatient behavioral health leadership experience (Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager level).
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of start date.
Crisis Intervention certification within 90 days of start date.
Background screening required.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
